Examples and links to cases of participatory leadership applied successfully 2004 - 2014
In a world that is becoming increasingly complex and fragmented, we need to know how to connect, co-lead and co-create with ourselves and each other to be wiser together, make the needed changes, transform and do the work that is required now.
The Art of Hosting / Participatory leadership through hosting and harvesting conversations and work that matters is a personal and collective leadership and professional development practice that deepens your own capacity to affect transformation in yourself, in teams, in our complex societies and the world at large.
A few examples from around the world:
• The European Commission has been using Participatory leadership and The Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations and Work that Matters over the last 11 years. This has helped to engage with many stakeholders and train leaders in participatory leadership understanding and practices. • As well as a report from an engagement process of 350 European citizens from all 28 nation states co creating input to policy making for the European Parliament: http://www.interchange.dk/download/Volunteer_conference_Newsletter_6without TC_654.pdf
• The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness - uses AoH practice to bring together multiple stakeholders to develop a comprehensive national strategy to prevent and end homelessness including homeless people in the process - this has never happened before.
• The Finance Innovation Lab in the United Kingdom is an incubator for systems change in the financial sector in the UK.
• AoH practice have begun to infuse civil society in Columbus,Ohio, USA, over the last 10years, informing high-impact projects in education, health care, and social services.
